RMB Toyota & Myton Park Primary - Toyota Fund for Better Tomorrow

RMB Toyota has been actively looking to build strong relationships within the local area. What better way to achieve this than to take an active role in our local community by using the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow to support Myton Park Primary school council. The school council is made up of members from across the school from Year 1 to Year 6.

The Myton Park Primary school council has been awarded £1350 to support their recycling project. The school council have been trying to make links with the local community in order to receive support in the project.  They can now update the recycling facilities in the school so it can become greener.  Use the funding to buy recycling bins for the classrooms, outside and in the dinner hall. In addition the fund will also be put towards trying to develop the garden area to include some new benches that are made out of recycled carrier bags for the children to use and enjoy in garden area.

Robert Bennett, “RMB said he was incredibly impressed with how the school council had developed such a relevant topic in a simple way to get all the staff and other children at the school involved. It's incredibly important to RMB Toyota to see the encouragement of teaching about the environment and its impact. It is great to see such an environmentally conscious the school council are at such a young age.”

Primary Teacher Mrs Ball has coordinated this with the school council. Through our ongoing partnership the children will learn how recycling will help improve environmental issues and global warming in the future. The children will become advocates at home and encourage their parents and friends to recycle, therefore having a positive impact on the community.  Being able to buy recycled furniture for our outdoor area/garden will show the children that their efforts in recycling are rewarded by seeing unwanted items being turned into useful items.

Gillian Ball, Primary Teacher, Myton Park Primary School said “We are delighted to announce that our partnership with the RMB Toyota. The project will demonstrate the impact of recycling on our community & environment and how it affects the children and their community, both now and in the future”
